Generative Web Particle Animation on LED Tiles
What if nature could extend itself into technology as technology embraced it in a harmonious, symbiotic dance? Atlanta has often been called "the city in a forest", but the delicate balance between forest and city could very easily tip one way or the other without intentional measures of coexistence. In "photosynthetic diodes", LED's that emit light combine with chloroplasts that absorb it. This poetic duality serves as the material, the building as the bones, and our generative animation software as the orchestrator that synthesizes the growth and creation of newly conceived cybernetic organisms - created by nature, digital architecture, and algorithm.
Our wish is that for just one moment, we can transform this giant digital canvas into a magical lens for the audience - a lens that applies a human-created filter of urban architecture and digital technology, to bring into focus a hopeful future of coexistence and combinatorial poetry between our city and our forest.
Inspired Action Design (IAD) is a network of physical and digital practitioners with a collective passion for making lasting impressions by weaving together technology, emotional architecture, storytelling, and beautiful content. IAD believes experience design should resonate emotionally and inspire positive action. Whether it’s inspiring community building, advocacy for public good, or a purchase that elevates well-being, intentional XD is a powerful force that can create connections across diverse perspectives. IAD was created by former design and technology executives and leaders who love working together and have over 85 years of collective experience in interactive environments, digital marketing, digital business transformation, and product design. The following practitioners collaborated to create the artwork, Photosynthetic Diodes: Hunter Spence (Production & Story Design), Joel Krieger (Experience Design), Matt Lewis (Technology), and Mauricio Talero (Graphic Design).
