A&E Atlanta Local Stories Call for Curators Now Open
Arts and Entertainment (A&E) Atlanta seeks curators to apply for its 2024 Local Stories series. Local Stories is an ongoing initiative using creative storytelling to present lesser-known facts about Downtown Atlanta's rich history on A&E downtown's digital sign at Margaret Mitchell Square (140 Peachtree Street). Learn more about Local Stories here.
A&E Atlanta partners with historians to uncover and present meaningful and unexpected stories about our city for curators and artists to interpret through a visual lens*. All artists will deliver one artwork in .mp4 video format to accompany story text drafted by the program’s historians and one artist statement about the artwork. Curators will work with their artists and the Local Stories team to develop artwork concepts, story progression, text, formatting, and readability to the audience**.
*Please note that all story topics available for the program are identified and chosen by A&E Atlanta and the program’s historians.
**This is a paid opportunity for all curators and artists. The selected curator will receive a stipend of $5,000, and each artist will receive $3,000. The curator cannot submit themselves as a participating artist.
Applications are due by Monday, March 25, 2024, at 11:59 PM EST.
