Arts & Entertainment Atlanta Reveals First Renderings of Signage and Public Art Concepts
First cohort of concepts to launch in 2019
ATLANTA (November 14, 2018) – Today at a media information session, Arts & Entertainment Atlanta provided an update on the first permitting milestone and revealed new renderings of signage and public art concepts to be implemented in 2019.
Sites within the initial cohort of applicants that were highlighted include 101 Marietta, 79 Marietta’s parking facility, Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta at Centennial Olympic Park, Peachtree Center, and The Westin Peachtree Plaza, Atlanta.
Renderings – featuring designs subject to change during the permitting process – bring to life examples of the digital media, public art, nontraditional advertising, and dynamic installations that will ultimately enhance the vibrancy of Atlanta’s center city.
Further, revenue sharing agreements with media companies participating in the district will fund the district’s management and its ability to produce public arts and entertainment programming.
“This effort presents us a tremendous opportunity to bring activity and light to signature corridors and nodes of activity in Downtown Atlanta,” said Jennifer Ball, CAP/ADID Vice President of Planning and Economic Development. “Bringing this program to life has been a true collaborative effort between ADID, the volunteers who serve on the district’s Advisory Council, Downtown property owners, and the media industry.”
