Organizational Support Grant - Visual Arts and Social Action
NEXT is an arts and social action organization and collaboration founded by P. Faith Carmichael, In partnership with leading socially-minded artists and organizations, it is a movement dedicated to empowering and increasing the voices and visibility of Atlanta’s visual, literary, film, and musical artists of color, while channeling the power of their art to inspire real social change.
A&E funds will be used for operational support of several programmatic events that will occur in Downtown Atlanta. This includes a continuation of NEXT and MARTA’s Artbound’s collaborative concert series of filmed performances featuring various artists performing commissioned work in unique urban settings to be disseminated on social media, projected on Atlanta cityscapes, in MARTA stations, in the Downtown area. These funds will also be used to support a high-visibility social media effort to support the art and social action campaign in Downtown Atlanta.
NEXT’s mission is to elevate Atlanta’s most aspiring literary, visual, and musical artists while channeling the power of their art to inspire real social change in our city.
