Nathan Wallace

Project Support Grant - Poetry Composition Series

Nathan R. Wallace, an Atlanta-based poet from Hinesville, Georgia, embarked on a mission fueled by personal tragedy. After losing a close friend to suicide, Nathan composed a poignant eulogy poem, sparking a commitment to giving people their well-deserved recognition in life. Nathan's transformative workshops empower others, creating spaces where voices are celebrated and heard before it's too late. Rooted in Southern values, Nathan's work challenges individuals and society to transcend past generations, advocating for love with empathy, accountability, and grace.

A&E funds will be used to support three empowering workshops that aim to provide individuals, especially youth, with tools for self-expression, emotional well-being, and effective communication. The focus is on helping young participants craft poems suitable for submission to the Atlanta Youth Poet Laureate program, potentially enabling them to compete regionally and nationally.

His journey is a testament to the transformative power of art, touching hearts and inspiring change in Atlanta and beyond.
