Project Support Grant - Commissioned Music & Concert
Atlanta-based ensemble vim is a contemporary chamber music collective dedicated to the performance of music by living composers. Founded in 2019, vim features the works of underrepresented artists with strong ties to the Southeast United States. With initiatives that include commissions, educational outreach programs, a composer fellowship, and multidisciplinary collaborations, ensemble vim is on a mission to foster and elevate new music in Atlanta.
Celebrating its second season as Ensemble-in-Residence at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, ensemble vim will present a free concert in honor of International Women’s Day. Atlanta-based musicians on flute, piano, voice, violin, and cello will perform music by female composers, including Atlanta natives Nicole Chamberlain and Sarah Gibson. vim will commission Atlanta composer Alice Hong to write a piece inspired by Atlanta's cultural scene to receive its world premiere that evening.
