Bernard Jackson

Project Support Grant - Exhibition

Bernard Jackson is an American fashion designer, philanthropist, and artist. Bernard has led the brand as the Founder and Principal Designer since its inception in 2017. Since then, his garments have been seen on the Grammys and BET Music Awards red carpets. He has partnered with Spelman College and Morehouse College as Director of Costuming for many events since 2019.

The “Angels Amongst Us” exhibition is a celebration of the gentle and authentic joy of Black men. Undergirded with a modern take on contemporary race talk and the reimagining of blackness in the media, this work will create an alternative atmosphere of sensibility towards and around Black masculinity. This reversed depiction of Black men will challenge the normalized perception of aggression and violence projected on them through fashion photography, oil/acrylic on canvas, and furniture design.

His philanthropic efforts can be attributed to item donations for the Fulton County Arts and Culture Dance Week, Atlanta Opera, and the Center for Puppetry Arts galas, as well as mentorship and internship opportunities extended to students at the collegiate level attending Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, and the Savannah College of Art and Design.
